 +====== Bikes & Biking ======

 +===== Free Bikes =====
 +
 +  * [[http://www.alumni.utah.edu/ubike/]] - crappy free bikes (don't even think of taking them on the trails); you can check them out on the Union Patio
 +
 +  * You can also find old one in [[http://www.craigslist.org]]
 +
 +===== Commuting =====
 +
 +For getting around town, check out the Salt Lake City Bikeways Map [[http://www.ci.slc.ut.us/transportation/BicycleTraffic/MAP.htm]]
 +
 +===== Road Biking =====
 +
 +  * City Creek Canyon Closed to cars (but open to bikes) on oddnumbered days May through September and all winter. A very nice ride, 5.6 miles one way, ~1360 ft. elevation gain. You can either bike up the canyon on the trail starting in Memory Grove or around it on the road. If taking the road,  I would also recommend biking along 11th Ave above the cemetery to see some great sights of the valley.
 +
 +  * Airport Loop Take North Temple East, to where it meets the airport, and follow the bike path around the airport (through several gates) for an easy 15 miles out and back ride.
 +
 +  * Saltair Ride Starting from S 5600 W and I-80, ride West along the frontage road to Salt Air and the Great Salt Lake Marina. Can be done as an addition to the airport loop.
 +
 +  * Emigration Ride up Emigration Canyon (just follow Sunnyside Ave. East) for 7.8 miles (1310 ft. elevation gain) to Little Mountain overlooking Little Dell Reservior, or continue on to Big Mountain.
 +
 +===== Mountain Biking =====
 +
 +  * The Bonneville Shoreline Trail via Dry Creek starts from the foothills behind campus.
 +
 +  * The Mill Creek Pipeline trail and Bobsled trail are also classics.
 +
 +  * Solitude ski resort has some great trails in the summer, and you can ride the lift to the top with your bike.
 +
 +  * Also, the area around Park City has plenty of good trails (Mid-Mountain Trail is a classic).
